De Achterhoek, especially the community of Aalten, has a wealth of nature, recreation, musea and history. There is a good infrastructure of walking and bike routes. The German border is located on a mere 5 kilometers and within an hour you are in Düsseldorf or Munster. The Christmas fairs of Bocholt and Düsseldorf are located on 10 cq 60 minutes.
