Twomey's Lodge is a spacious newly built house, located on the Beara Peninsula in an unspoiled environment with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and Ballydonegan Beach, with its beautiful quartz strand a direct result of the mining era. Interior This welcoming house is tastefully furnished and decorated. On first floor there is a comfy sitting room with fireplace to sit back and relax, a spacious fully equipped kitchen with dining area and also a single bedroom. The three bright spacious bedrooms (2 double and 1 twin) are on the ground floor (1 double bedroom is en suite). All bedrooms do have plenty storage and timber floors. The beds are provided with tasteful bed linen. Environment Behind Twomey's Lodge is the Goula Mountain with spectacular views of Bere Island, Dursey Island , Crow Head, Mizen Head, Skellig Rock and the Bull Rock. It's possible to visit Dursey Island by cable car. The ideal place for nature lovers for swimming, walking, shore and boat fishing, diving and pony trekking etc. You can also tour the famous Ring of Beara and Ring of Kerry, both giving access to magnificent sea and mountain scenery and its abounds with archaeological and historical sites incl. the Healy Pass through rugged mountains with breathtaking views.The Beara Peninsula is a grand day out, visit the many Galleries on your tour. The village of Allihies is just 1.6 km. away and there you will find pubs, a restaurant, a post office, a shop, a petrol station and the Copper mine Museum. The Dzogchen Beara Retreat Centre is 7.1 km. away on the Castletownbere road, it is run by a worldwide Tibetan Buddhist Organization and open for visitors for classes and meditation (www.dzogchenbeara.org). Castletownbere is a bustling fishing town with plenty shops, pubs and restaurants. There is a car ferry which runs every day to Bere Island. For those interested there is a 9 hole golf course in Castletownbere,and for those like hiking there are five exhilarating hikes on the Wild Atlantic Way, enjoy here the beauty too.
