The dike house, or Hûs op 'e Dyk as the Friesians, is located at the end of the pier and is positioned as a 'landmark' at the top of the harbour in the water sports village of Terherne at the Sneekermeer (lake). It's a beacon for the incoming ships and the final sign of farewell for those leaving. A unique location to spend a comfortable night in a historic, nautical atmosphere. The dike house is suitable for 2 people and ideal for a special occasion. The first floor is home to the living room with a west facing balcony. The birch furniture, as well as the chairs, table, cupboards and bed have been designed and produced by a Friesian furniture designer and look fantastic on the dove blue floor. The second floor has a bedroom with a loggia which enjoys the morning sun. Hûs op 'e Dyk's height means it enjoys fantastic views across the harbour with all its classic ships and the lakes around Terherne. Terherne is surrounded by water and it's therefore no coincidence that the village has grown into a water sports village with international allure. Plenty of sailing possibilities. You can rent a boat or sloop via the owner. If you plan on arriving with your own sloop or sailing boat, then a mooring place in the harbour is available for your use.
