Montauroux is set in the Fayence region of the upper Var and is one of the small villages perched on the side of a mountain. Fayence is at a slightly higher altitude in the cooler green hills of the Var than the warmer Mediterranean coastline with its glitzy towns such as Cannes and St Raphael.
Closeby Lake St Cassien is perfect for windsurfing and other watersports, the Abbaye du Thoronet a quiet place to visit and hear the monks evensong.

Fayence. 10 km. Much visited hill top fortified village, between sea and mountains and surrounded by picturesque Provencal countryside. Also renowned for its gliding centre, often considered the best in Europe.
Seillans. 15 km. Delightful hill top village and one of the most beautiful villages in France. Its medieval centre with a maze of narrow cobbled streets, shaded squares and ancient fountains overlooks a wonderful countryside. The village also boasts a castle and lovely church. Home to many artists.
Grasse. 22 km. Fascinating historic town and world''s perfume capital. Explore the delightful narrow streets or go on one of the factory tours offered by some of the most famous perfume houses.

Les Grottes de St Cézaire, St Cézaire sur Siagne. 17 km. Discovered in 1890 by a local farmer whilst working his land. Full of fantastic formations including draperies, stalactites and stalagmites. Spectacular underground landscapes.
Aqualand, Fréjus. 30 km. Waterpark. Fantastic waterpark with a great number of water rides for the whole family, including the largest wave pool in Europe and the huge Twin-Twister water slide. Not for the faint hearted!
Parc Zoologique, Fréjus. 30 km. Animal park. Enjoy a walk or drive through this 20 hectare park where you will discover over 130 animal species from all 5 continents, ranging from the smallest, the Cotton Top Tamarin to the biggest, the Asian Elephant.
