The commemoration of 100 years of WW1 is a good opportunity to visit historical sites such as the Ijzertoeren (Iron Tower) in Diksmuide, the Dodengang (Dead Corridor) in Kaaskerke, or one of the museums in Nieuwpoort, Veurne, Ieper or Lo.

Tersmuide is an excellent starting point for a relaxing day at sea, the theme park Plopsaland or the amusement park Bellewaerde. In front of Tersmuide starts a cycling network that goes past all kinds of sights in the countryside and villages.
