Het Zwaluwke is a unique accommodation in the Flemish Slijpe-Middelkerke. You will stay at an authentic homestead where the old stables have been converted into holiday homes. You are surrounded by an oasis of peace and quiet, have an endless view out over the polder landscape and yet you are only a few kilometres away from the coast. Interior There is a friendly atmosphere at the homestead and you will immediately feel at home. The accommodation is comfortably and warmly furnished and offers a stylish combination of authentic details with contemporary luxury. For example the modern kitchen with Smeg refrigerator and built-in equipment forms a beautiful contrast with the wooden beams and sliding “stable door”. On the ground floor you will find the living space with seating area, dining table and kitchen. Via the open staircase you gain access to the top floor. The area offers you 2 large bedrooms. The bathroom is equipped with a nice bath. Exterior From the terrace at the rear of your holiday home you have a splendid view out over the landscape. You can go for a wonderful walk in the surroundings or take a look at the animals on the homestead itself. There are chickens, swans, donkeys and a piglet. Do you have a horse that you would like to bring along? That is possible! There are spacious stalls that you can hire and your horse will be provided with straw, hay and fodder. Surroundings Would you like to go out for the day? Whether cycling or walking you will discover how beautiful and versatile this part of the Flemish Coast is. The homestead lies along or close to various cycling routes, such as the Landbouwleerpad (40 km), the Tempelhofroute (19km)and the Schoorbakkerroute (44km). Should you prefer to go by car then the Hoeveroute (76 km) is a real must. Middelkerke, with its 8 kilometre long sand beach and lively centre is also worth a visit. The seaside resorts of Oostende and Nieuwpoort are within a 15 minute drive by car and the well-known UNESCO city of Bruges lies 40 kilometres away. As you can see; you never have to get bored in this oasis of peace and quiet!
