The magical The Castle of the Lake holiday home is situated close to the centre of Vielsalm in the Belgian Ardennes, next to the Doyards reservoir. This special villa is located in the historic fortress, which used to be the residence of the Graven van de Salm, on a rock formation above the Salm valley. From the terrace and the courtyard you are treated to a phenomenal view across the lake. The Castle of the Lake has a magic feel with its stone arches and natural materials used in furnishing and decoration. This unique group accommodation comes with a wellness pavilion, including a hammam, a Finnish sauna, a solarium and a Jacuzzi. The recreation chalet has a table-top football game, a television with various games, a play corner, and a separate cupboard containing a choice of other games. In addition the holiday villa has a living room with an open fireplace, a well-equipped kitchen and a large dining table. The Castle of the Lake has nine luxurious and stylish bedrooms, of which six are ensuite. Two bedrooms come with their own shower facility. There is a large terrace where you can enjoy the beautiful view and a delicious barbecue. The Castle of the Lake is also great for seminars and parties (some of the rooms can be hired separately). You can also enjoy some of the culinary highlights in the restaurant, the brasserie and its own wine bar, adjacent to the house. Vielsalm is a small interesting town with plenty of history, good gastronomy and a large choice of shops. Well-known and great fun is the so-called "bosbessenfeesten" (blueberry festival) during the summer. You can also swim or sail a boat on your own lake! The surroundings are afforested and there are many great mountain biking, cycling and walking possibilities. In addition, the region offers many touristic and sporty activities, such as cross-country skiing, within a range of 25 kilometres.
