The holiday home 't Leeghuys is located near the IJzer river in the Flemish region of Westhoek. From this beautiful spot you can reach the beach of Koksijde in less than half an hour's drive, and the towns of Poperinge, Diksmuide and Ypres are each about 15 km away. Despite the vast destructions during the First World War these towns have been perfectly rebuilt in the original style. In particular, the Cloth Hall in Ypres is a beautiful building. This is also where the new museum, In Flanders Fields' is housed, and a visit is certainly recommended now that the First World War is a hundred years ago. Bruges and Lille are reached within an hour's drive. In the water-rich region of Lo-Reninge you can go kayaking on the Ijzer or Lo-Vaart, and take nice walks or bike rides on the paths along the canals. Along the way there are many cafes and restaurants that invite you to take a short, relaxing break. The house 't Leeghuys stands on a plot of 12 acres, of which more than 2 acres are located directly at the house and where the landlord has created a petting zoo with deer, partridges and pheasants. Furthermore, there is a lawn for playing and running around and a shaded terrace. The house is equipped with a professional kitchen and a large, bright dining room. Especially in the winter garden you will really enjoy your meals and in some of the rooms you will find various works of art by the landlady. The house is really suitable for a stay of several generations. There is one bedroom with bathroom on the ground floor, three bedrooms on the first floor, and one on the second floor that is accessed via a steep staircase. There is even extra space provided for the kids. In the second conservatory they can play in peace and security or watch DVDs. The house 't Leeghuys is a wonderful place to stay with friends or family and enjoy a holiday in the countryside of Flanders.
