Over Friese Heerlijkheid

In the hearts of Friesland, at 7 km to the southwest of Leeuwarden there lies the village of Boksum. Approximately 400 people live here in houses allocated around the church, which dates from the year 1100 and was built on a mound. The location is quiet and yet central to all the tourist attractions of Friesland. The water sports strongholds of Sneek, Grou and Franeker are to be found within a radius of 20 km. Leeuwarden, with its historic centre and sub-tropical swimming pool "De Blauwe Golf" is easily accessible by bicycle. Or how about a trip to one of the islands in the Wadden Sea? Highly recommended is the restaurant "De vijf sinnen" in Weidum, which is at about 4 km from your holiday home. In the port in your street you can set your canoe or boat afloat or in winter you can go skating here. Your accommodation is a detached, authentic Frisian house, which used to be a small grocery store in former times. It is located in the village centre and has been renovated in a modern country house style. One of the bedrooms is a connecting room to another bedroom. You can park your car at about 100 meters from your holiday home.
